Star: Steve Herzog
Steve Herzog was raised in the Rogue Valley. Steve left Medford early in his junior year of high school and relocated with his family to Brookings, Oregon, where he then graduated. While in Brookings, Steve met and married Pattie, his lovely wife of over 50 years. After having their 3 sons in Brookings, they returned to Medford to raise their family. Steve and Pattie now have 3 daughters (one for each son) and 8 grandchildren. They are very blessed by their family.
Steve enjoyed several careers over the years: sales, construction, college (4 years at SOU) managing several businesses in the Valley, and then Health Care Administration. Steve culminated his career in partnership with a college buddy in the ownership of an Ace Hardware store. The Ace Hardware years were the most relaxing and enjoyable seasons in his career. His various job experiences prepared him for the many types of home repairs and projects he would complete for clients and left him feeling very gratified.
Steve is very involved in his church and with several nonprofit organizations in the Valley. Being retired allows Steve to give his time to others and to show the love of Jesus. He is also able to spend time with family and old friends, and wishes he golfed and fished more than he does.
Steve has never been much of a dancer but is excited to try something new and especially to be a part of this wonderful event to benefit Sparrow Clubs.
Partner: Colette Kuhl
Colette fell in love with ballroom dancing at the age of fifteen and has been on the floor ever since! For over a decade, she has competed in several Open Floor Community Ballroom Association competitions as well as Dancing with the Rogue Valley Stars competitions and has performed in many showcases at the Evergreen Ballroom as well as multiple other events. When Colette is not dancing or coaching dance, she can be found coordinating Good News Clubs, Vacation Bible Schools, and Summer Camps for Child Evangelism Fellowship where she is employed full time, pursuing a degree in Biblical Studies at Pacific Bible College, and volunteering with youth and worship ministries at her church. She is so honored to be dancing for Sparrow Clubs again this year, and excited to see this amazing program continue to grow as more people catch the vision of providing hope to children and families who need it!
